4 Steps to Manifesting Your Purpose: Step 1 – Acknowledge
by Michael Yang on October 4, 2011
In my last post, I shared a statement saying that the whole purpose of this life is to undo our impression of limitation and the fear of the world that comes with it.
There are certain simple steps to take that will allow your purpose to start revealing itself to you. It won’t take a physical effort, but definitely a mental one.
The first step is very simple.
Acknowledge
The very first step is to acknowledge that there is something in us that is limitless, infinite. With no end to possibility or resources, endless ideas, abundance for everyone.
As magical and as powerful as acknowledging a possibility is, it’s really not that difficult. We actually do it in small ways everyday. Before we try a new restaurant, we acknowledge the possibility of us having lunch there. If there is a surf spot that we’ve never been to yet, we acknowledge that there is a new surf destination to be tried out.
Acknowledging a possibility is not as foreign to us as we think. It’s just that the things we’re used to acknowledging are very trivial, “small” things. To take our practice of acknowledging to a higher level, we must practice acknowledging greater and more substantial possibilities for ourselves.
Acknowledgement is a small but powerful step that opens up possibility!
Acknowledgement Points The Way
All sorts of possibilities exist. The question is, what possibilities exists for you? We’ve seen tremendous developments in the last 10 years for cell phones. Who could have imagined ten years ago, in 2001, that we’d be able to take photos, access the internet, shoot videos, and have video chats with people half way across the world? On our phones!
Up until the very moment you acknowledge a possibility for yourself, the state of your world exists in a resting state. Although there may be activity, there’s not going to be any sort of drastic change. It will continue indefinitely in this equilibrium state until something exerts a force on it.
The moment that you, as a powerful and creative individual, exert the force of acknowledging a possibility on the state of your world, you now have a compass that directs the course in you manifesting this possibility.
What’s great about acknowledgement is that anything can be a possibility. At the same time, what’s scary about acknowledgement is that…anything can be a possibility.
Acknowledgement Can be Frightening
Even though it’s not absolutely guaranteed that you’ll attain the outcome you want just by setting things in motion, one thing is guaranteed. This is the fact that doing nothing and taking no steps forward will absolutely result in not getting the outcome you want.
At every moment, anything can be a possibility. Even though it’s really easy for our mind to run away with us sometimes, we have to keep focusing on what we want not what we don’t want. The results that manifest will come about because of the energy we direct towards it.
Acknowledgement Begins the Energizing Process
Have you ever been to the carnival or fair and played the game where you have to shoot a water gun at a target to make a horse figurine cross a finish line? Or played the shooting game where you have to shoot the red star out of that piece of paper?
Acknowledgement of a possibility gives you a target to to direct your energy towards.
In Distracted Moments, Refocus
It’s so easy to get distracted, having energy be dispersed all over the place.
Each moment is new, and at every moment, make an intention effort to acknowledge the possibility that you want for yourself. As important as the larger goal is, reaching that point is the sum of many small steps, many instant moments.
Allow yourself patience, and acknowledge in your creative process at each moment.
